Well, hello everyone.  I´m very sorry that I haven´t been around in some time.  It´s only mostly my fault.  I´d say about 65%.  I especially want to apologize on to my TOR homes.  I know I´m never around guys, and I´ll do my best to change that, even given my current circumstances.  Read more about those circumstances below.  Anyway, I have been writing a bit lately and I have four posts ready to go.  I just have to transfer them from the written word to electronic text.  Hopefully, I can do that.

I can blame the rest on the fact that I´m at YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK!!!!!!!!! for the summer.  Early June until August 8th I will be working for the park and the companies affiliated with them.  As a big fan of the western United States I have to say that I´m really excited about this.  If you couldn´t tell from the all caps above.  It´s just beautiful up here.  Plus, it´s the first time I´ve been to the states of Wyoming and Montana and maybe soon to be Idaho, too.  I was surprised how nice Wyoming is.  Sure, humanwise there isn´t all that much there, but who cares?  It´s gorgeous when it isn´t covered under 10 feet of snow.  Well, it might be gorgeous then, too, but the bitter cold might take away from the beauty.

I realized yesterday that the other geographic feature that I love about this part of the country, right behind mountains of course, are waterfalls.  You really need cliffs for the good ones and the midwest doesn´t always have a large variety of cliffs.  So my goal this summer is to hike as many peaks and see as many falls as I´m capable without being mauled by a bear.

Speaking of animals, three days in I´d already been trot-charged at by an elk (she chased me back into my dorm) and seen a bear while I was out hiking.  And of course there are plenty of buffalo/bison all over the place.  Fortunately, none of them have seen fit to charge at me yet.

And yesterday it snowed.  Gotta love mountain weather.  Sometimes the snow does come down in June.

I gotta say, never really seeing many thermal features in my lifetime, Yellowstone´s geysers, hot springs, and pools are pretty fun to look at.  Very unique things, and I´ve liked seeing the different ones throughout the park.  It helps that I´m working in the geyser basin, right next to Old freakin´ Faithful, number one tourist spot in the park.  Let´s you hear as many different languages as Disney Land.  Well, maybe not that many.

The downside of working here, other than the possible danger presented by the fauna and always changing weather, is that there´s little to no TV, internet, or radio.  Which means that my access online is precious when I get it.  Though that does mean when I get it I´ll try to do the things I need to do instead of stupid time wasting things.  So I´m coming TOR!!  Just hold on.

But alas, my time grows short.  I hope you all have had a fun summer.  See you when it´s hot.

Yellowstone, fantastic! Don't get melted by the supervolcano! :-)
